My Mom Wants to Get a Hair Loss Treatment

My mom has been experiencing hair loss lately so she wants to get a hair loss treatment. I thought it was a pretty drastic solution. I asked her if there was some other solution besides getting a hair loss treatment. She said that it was the only and fastest way to grow hair back again. I didn’t want her to go through the treatment so I told her that I’d find another alternative, if I could then she’ll have to postpone the hair loss treatment and take my alternative first.

So I went online and researched about hair loss. There, I read that we actually lose 50-100 hair strands in a day. I knew that already so I went on to find solutions to hair loss. I wasn’t looking for facts about hair, I was looking natural hair loss treatments. I was able to find quite a few. Eating fruits and vegetables can actually promote healthy hair growth and prevent hair loss. Drinking of multivitamins also helps. I showed this to my mom and as promised, she underwent through the solution that I found. She’s been eating fruits and vegetables and she’s also taking multivitamins. I hope this works so she doesn’t have to get a hair loss treatment.

Common Health Conditions That Can Cause Hair Loss

Every time you groom your hair it is quite normal to find a 3 or more hair strands in your comb or brush. But when we grow older these strands increase in number and in some cases we experience excessive hair fall that cause temporary or permanent hair loss.

There are several conditions that can cause hair loss like:

  • Hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. Normal thyroid function is very important for proper metabolism. Anything above or below 2.5 to 2.2 TSH levels can cause hair loss.
  • Iron deficiency anemia can decrease oxygen uptake in the lungs, thus less oxygenation of the tissues and this including the hair follicles.
  • Low levels of estrogen can cause hair loss. Our hair grows very well when estrogen levels are high like during pregnancy. After giving birth, the sudden drop of estrogen causes sudden hair fall hence the term post partum hair loss.
  • Dihydrotestosterone or DHT is hormone that is actually the number one cause of hair loss in men and women of any age.
  • Lack of B-complex vitamins like Biotin, Panthenol and Inositol can cause hair loss.

The treatments for the above conditions are fairly easy, just correct the problem and hair will eventually grow back. Dihydrotestosterone causes a condition called androgenetic alopecia and this needs a lifelong treatment to keep hair growing.

The truth is, none of these products work! There is only one true long term solution to male baldness, and that solution is hair transplant surgery.
