Happy Birthday with Love and Meal Delivery Services

2012
01.21

I was so surprised the other day as my kids phoned a meal delivery company to send me gourmet dishes at my office. It was one of their birthday surprises for me. They know that I can’t be home for my birthday, so decided to treat me lunch instead. The surprises didn’t end up until dinner time where they have prepared pancakes and banana splits for me. They said they tried to make me a cake, but they only know how to make pancakes. There smiles and sweet kisses made my day so special. My husband, on the other hand, never failed to remind me how special I am as he gifted me a new set of jewelry. He said he has been saving for it for a couple of months now. No wonder he wasn’t going out with his friends lately on weekends. I am just so grateful to have such a wonderful family.

Grocery Stores and Food Blogs

2011
10.15

As an adult, I still love going to the grocery store. I could get lost in them today. While it is nice to be able to find a wider variety of ingredients than ever before, I do miss the quaint inviting feel of grocery stores past. To this day, I could look back on those stores and still be able to tell you what isle to find your items in. Things didn’t change much in this store. The meat cutter, the deli guy, the checkers who had made a career of working there – You knew everyone’s name. If you are lucky enough to still have a neighborhood grocery center like this, take some time to appreciate it. Because as the wheels of time keep turning, the unique experience of visiting the “neighborhood grocer” fades away from more communities every day. I will continue to write more and more about my love for grocery stores in my food blogs. Be sure to stop by and visit sometime soon.

Rice Cooker for the New Kitchen

2011
10.10

Rani has never been much of a cook. After settling down, her husband wanted to eat at home more often because it has been years he ate out. He wishes to get some home-cooked meals after work. That is when Rani started to buy utensils for her new kitchen. She just moved into this new condominium with her husband about 2 weeks ago. The first thing on her list is a rice cooker. She went online to search for rice cooker reviews to guide her into getting a good one. She read a few of them which recommends getting a non-stick inner pot to ease cleaning the pot as well as to avoid wastage of rice. It was also recommended to get one with a keep warm feature. Soon, Rani went to the mall and got herself a decent rice cooker. After that she bought some pans and pots and a whole lot of groceries. She started cooking from that day onwards and her husband was happy with the home-cooked meals.

A Homemade Pizza Dough Recipe is Good for the Soul

When it pertains to eating right, eating smart and eating healthy, you should attempt to have meals that are constructed with wholegrain or have a minimum levels of fruits and veggies included. Recipes such as a authentic Moroccan pizza dough recipe can help add a dimension to your cooking that makes your dishes irresistible while nutritious at the same time. There are plenty other things you can do such as when you have a sandwich, replace the high calorie and high sodium dressing with olive oil, freshly squeezed lemon, sea salt and herbs.

When eating at restaurants as well as cooking in your own home, avoid recipes that call for fried foods, foods drizzled with batter and foods basted in and or covered with artery clogging cheese and butter. Instead of such heart harmful meals, you need to choose healthy meals that are baked and therefore are lower in oil and body fat content.
